Kukutana e.V.

Germany is a multi-cultural country where people come together from around the world. For building and maintaining a socially coherent society our children need social skills that are more complex than those that most of us have been raised with. In an effort to support children in developing these skills, we have created Kukutana. Kukutana is Swahili and means 'coming together'. Our kindergarten, our Schrebergarten, our game evening and our public living-room provide the space and openness to come together at eye-level.

Self-Diversity

Living and working in a globalized world asks for social skills that are new to many of us. When these skills were first discovered in the 1950ies, scientists named the people who had these skills Third Culture Kids (TCK). In the 80ies, it became clear that adults are also able to develop these skills and the terminology changed to Cross Culture Individuals (CCI). Today, we know these skill sets include not only cultural characteristics but very personal ones as well. That is why we now speak of SELF-DIVERSITY.
